Abstract

The experiment, started in 2005, aims at this stage to evaluate the C sequestration, changes in the amount of microbial C and their enzymatic activities (²-glucosidase, dehydrogenase, phosphatase and arylsulfatase), the quality of SOM and CO2 emissions due to the application of composted sewage sludge on recovered areas with natives species of Atlantic Forest. The treatments are: 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 t ha-1 of composted sewage sludge with K supplemental; conventional mineral fertilization; dose of K used as supplementation for the sludge and a control treatment. The collection of soil samples will be carried out before application of treatments and after 6, 12 and 18 months. The soil will be sampled at 0-20, 20-40, 40-60, 60-80 and 80-100 cm. These dates will also be evaluated organic C, microbial C and density of soil in all samples. In the samples of the first and last sampling will be performed chemical analysis and micronutrients, after 6 and 12 months will still be carried out physical and chemical fractionation of SOM and enzyme activity. During the experiment, will be also measured flow of CO2 from the soil. The C stored in the system in each of the seasons will correspond to the sum of the organic carbon in soil, organic C in the litter and microbial biomass. The data will be submitted to analysis of variance and, if necessary, the averages will be compared by Tukey test at 5% probability. The results of the treatments with sewage sludge will also be analyzed by regression. (AU)
