Abstract

Little is known about deep-sea macroecological patterns. The study of distribution patterns of hydrozoans in deep waters can contribute to this question, especially due to their particular ecology and life history. In this study we will use macroecology and biogeography in order to infer distribution patterns of benthic and pelagic hydrozoans in deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean and adjacent polar seas, aiming to characterize geographical and ecological boundaries and gradients.
