Abstract

The Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome ( PFPS ) is one of the diseases that most affects the knee , however , despite the high incidence , there is no consensus about its etiologic factors , nor about its clinical and functional diagnosis . Such problems may be closely related to the lack of standardized methodologies for their study .The PPS patients report pain and restrictions present in some ADL ( Activities of Daily Living ) , such as climbing and descending stairs, squatting , sitting and staying long climb ramps . In this context , the ladder has been widely used in clinical research involving Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome , as well as being financially viable is also very common to find in physical therapy clinics , hospitals and biomechanics laboratories . The problem shows up when the test protocols are analyzed with ladder because there is no consensus in the literature as to the number of steps and the amount of climbs that should be used to study the PPS. Therefore the objective of this study is to propose an experimental model to study the PPS in stair climbing . 10:05 rises For that purpose two distinct steps, one with 7 steps and other steps 3 and ladder will be used for each two motions are used.
