Abstract

The term quality of life (QOL) has been cited in the literature increasingly linked to health. The concept currently adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) is defined as "the individual's perception of their position in life in the context of culture and value systems in which they live and in relation to their goals, expectations, standards and concerns". This definition covers aspects of subjectivity and multidimensionality bipolarity, which have been explored in the development of questionnaires designed to assess QOL, such as the World Health Organization Quality of Life - 100 (WHOQOL-100). There is a paucity of data in the literature on the quality of life of medical students, especially in courses that adopt active learning methodologies. In this study we evaluate the quality of life of students of 1st and 4th year medical students a course that takes only active methods of teaching and learning. For this, students will be interviewed for the 1st and 4th year of Medicine, Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) about their quality of life, using the instrument as WHOQOL-100. The target population of the research will be students enrolled in the course, accept that answer a minimum of 80% of the content of the questionnaire, after agreement and signing the consent form. Data will be analyzed and compared with the literature that focuses on the quality of life of university students in Medicine.
