Abstract

By the objective of evaluating the electrophoretic profile of the proteins in the blood of mares in the estrus and in the diestrus, was conceived this assay. Thirty serum samples from 15 recipient mares will be analyzed, from which individual samples must be collected in the estrus and in the diestrus. Possible correlations between the electrophoretic profile of the phases of estrous cycle and the percentage of pregnancies at the end of the breeding season will be tried to be established. The total serum protein will be obtained by the Biuret method, from the use of commercial kits (LABTEST) and the different protein subfractions by polyacrylamide gel (SDS-PAGE). The pregnancies will be confirmed by ultrasonography.
