Abstract

During the elderly hospitalization, it is possible the occurrence of loss of functional capacity (FC), whereas the elderly is taken from their familiar context and subjected to various procedures that may compromise the realization of their usual activities. This study aims to verify the impact of hospitalization in the functional capacity of the elderly. 100 hospitalized elderly will be assessed at the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu-Unesp, by means of rating scales of basic activities of daily living (Katz).
