Abstract

Inasmuch intended to be held as part of a somewhat larger ongoing research (namely, "The nietzschean concept of Overman in its relation to the eternal return - an interpretative analysis of 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra'.") the following project is aimed at a better understanding of the role devised for the eternal recurrence in Zarathustra. The main concern here is to delve into the evolution of the concept, comprehending and contrasting the various incarnations it had until the coming of its final form, so as to arrive at conclusions that, hopefully, will optimize the carrying of the aforementioned research. In this light, Marco Brusotti's work has emerged as one of undeniable importance, as is his large contribution to the understanding of nietzschean thought - and trying to make justice to it in these few lines would be futile. His tutelage is sure to generate vastly fruitful developments for the results hitherto gained, as well as for those to come from discussing not only his own work on the subject, but his take on the secondary literature in sight. Furthermore, the prestigious Technische Univertistät Berlin, where Prof. Dr. Brusotti will be teaching, will obviously provide abundant research material, tremendously relevant to this project. (AU)
