Abstract

The demands by consumers are constantly growing, as well as concern for the environment. Considering this change of prospect in the business environment, the attention given to environmental issues is growing and gaining more and more importance. Currently, the implementation of environmental management is a strong competitive advantage to the company that uses it. Considering the aforementioned, this project aims to determine whether Brazilian industrial companies that comprise the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) at BM&FBOVESPA (São Paulo Stock Exchange) apply all or part of the elements present in environmental management (green design, ISO 14001 and cleaner production), in what way and to what degree. This paper will employ a survey research in the format of a structured questionnaire based on Likert 5 (five) points scale. (AU)
