Abstract

Analyses of national scientific production require the transformation of bibliographic data in bibliometric data. Thus, standardization of information is a requirement, as it should ensure uniformity of information to be recorded. This project aims to standardize variants of journal titles, due to the different ways that a title is cited (complete, abbreviations and incorrectly) in Brazilian articles present in the SciELO and Web of Science, as well as in USP's journals not indexed in these indices. The variety of ways written can be corrected from authoritative lists composed of other sources of information that provide lists of titles indexed in databases - Web of Science, Scopus, SciELO and still the basis ISSN, which controls codes identifiers journals from around the world - that can be performed using techniques of relationship between databases.
