Abstract

The GWINPE (Gravitational Wave Group of INPE) group has been developing research related to the vibration isolation system for future generations of the Advanced Laser Interferometer Gravitational Observatory (aLIGO). The research is linked to the Suspension and isolation Working Group (SWG) of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC) and it constitutes of a cryogenic multi-nested pendula (MNP) able to attenuate seismic noises while safe vertical space. MNP, as it is called, has already been designed to operate at room temperature, but now we want to study its cryogenic performance, since this is the goal for the third and fourth generations of advanced LIGO (3G and 4G).
