Abstract

This project focuses on the experienced immersion by the user in the proposed universe by medias, particularly, in audiovisual medias where the narrative is allied to stereoscopy and the 3D digital modeling. This study will be based on the 3D feature length animation films How to train your dragon (DreamWorks, 2010), Frozen (Walt Disney, 2013) and How to train your dragon 2 (DreamWorks, 2014) due to the elaboration of complex characters in their physical and psychological features, besides the representation of magic and fantastic and mythological creatures. Concomitantly to the study of the narratives, it will be possible to evaluate the fantastical perspective and its relation with the reality proposed by the three-dimensional stereoscopy and 3D atmosphere. Initially, it is suggested a historical overview to consolidate the stereoscopy and animation techniques emphasizing the current cinematographic scene and the 3D modeling. Afterwards, the research will be directed to study the narratives of the abovementioned films, followed by an analysis about the main characters modeling and their physical and psychological features. Finally, there will be an analysis about the use of the stereoscopy together with the narrative and the characteres and set modeling in these three films, verifying the use of stereoscopic volumetry attributed to the set and the characters in different intensity dramatic scenes and their contribution to the films narratives.
