Abstract

The Brazilian citriculture is a fairly profitable activity in the long run, although it is characterized by high levels of risk. It is a sector with an outstanding performance in the country's agribusiness, but it has been observed a deterioration of relationship between the farmers and the processing industry of orange juice. In recent years, in discussions and negotiations, a proposal for the formation of a sectoral council, CONSECITRUS, has evolved. The objective of the research is to contribute to an assessment of the impact of different remuneration models for the sector, through CONSECITRUS, on the economic feasibility of the citrus industry in the State of São Paulo.
