Abstract

To achieve quality in healthcare services, it is needed actions that enables the monitoring of the results of the care provided and identification of the need for interventions to improve performance, productivity and quality. Tools that can be used for this purpose are indicators. This study aims to highlight, map and analyze the indicators adopted by the department of nursing in Brazilian teaching hospitals. This is a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, cross-section survey, where a questionnaire will be applied to be answered by the technical responsible person of the nursing service or to a person designated by them. The questions are related to the characterization data of the institutions, managerial reporting, quality certification program, adoption of indicators, strategies of discussion and dissemination of the indicators, adverse event reporting and opinion of the respondents regarding the indicators. Will be sent using Google Drive® and the data will be exported to the spreadsheet program Microsoft Excel® 2010, where the database will be created for later statistical analysis using Epi Info, version 3.5.2. The results will be analyzed using Donabedian's theoretical framework for evaluation of health services. The project will be sent to the Ethics Committee of the Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, University of São Paulo, in order to be fulfilled the requirements of Resolution 466/12 of the National Health Council.
