Abstract

It is important to correctly identify the bone normality of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), because there is anatomical variation depending on the individual clinical factors and influences. This work will evaluate the computational reconstruction of the head based on MRI images using techniques of semi-automatic volumetric segmentation using a free software with the main scope of this morphological classification structure TMJ jaw. Sets of MRI volumetric acquisition of the ATM, T1-weighted will be used. In the technique of semi-automatic segmentation procedures preprocessing and region growing using the ImageJ software will be applied. The results obtained will be compared using statistical methods.
