Abstract

Tall buildings require specific studies related to horizontal loads generated by earthquakes and wind loads. This project aims bracing solutions for structural masonry buildings with multiple floors. In Brazil , where there are no horizontal forces generated by earthquakes , the study will focus on wind loading, seeking bracing solutions through models that will be developed in SAP2000 software and Ftool .The models covered will be developed based on pre - existing models ( cantilever walls , frame with and without considering plastic hinges, spatial frames ) and considering the wind loading with and without eccentricity (centered untwisted force, eccentric loading with twist), as well as cases of symmetric and asymmetric structures .The models are applied to structures that have one, four , eight and twenty floor . Two conceptual plant models and two actual building plants will also be assessed, in order to show the efficiency of each model. Forms of analysis will be focused on the responses of internal forces, displacements and the degree of 2nd order effects measured in each model . Comparative tables will be built and developed from these analyzes to identify the degree of conservatism of each model and variation of internal forces and stiffness.
