Abstract This research takes as objects of study the works of the economists-historians Maurice Dobb and Paul Sweezy, more specifically their texts relative to the historiographical debate about the transition from feudalism to capitalism. Articulated among two instances - the study of the text itself, using the conceptual analisys, and a broader refletion, concentraded on the comprehension of the place of production of these works and the intellectual environment that the authors were inserted -, this work pretend to shed some light on the meanings of the concepts "feudalism" and "production mode" used by Dobb and Sweezy and verify in what measure their aprehension and difusion fostered the discussion iniciated by them in the early XX's and that echoes until today. | |
