Abstract

This research project for international internship is part of the Master's dissertation in progress in the Graduate Program in Human Geography at USP, which analyzes the academic production of this program as a key part of the movement of critical renewal in the Brazilian Geography during the second half of the XX century. As a partial result of the research, from a survey of all work submitted between 1964 and 1985 and the analysis of the bibliographies of the same, we found French geographers - particularly Pierre George and Yves Lacoste - and Herodote as thematic and methodological references to such researches. We set out, then, to understand more deeply this French Geography which funded the work of a generation of geographers trained by USP, and featured a break toward called Critical Geography. (AU)
