Abstract

Current clinical studies with cancer patients (CP) have evaluated the quality ofLife (QOL) as a relevant outcome, together with the assessment of survival. Usually, clinicians inferred a lower QoL depending on the clinical experience through of subjective information obtained from the patient or clinical outcome. Although the literature show an increasing number of studies concerned with the quality of life of patients, little is still see this practice in the daily routine of health professionals. Objective- Evaluate the feasibility of a program that uses the application of assessment tools in health through computers (adherence to the program, difficulties encountered in respond, time to answer, number of unanswered items). Methodology - Study cross-sectional observational. Participate in the study 196 patients in oncology wards Clinical Cancer Hospital of Barretos, e18 years of age; aware of the diagnosis of cancer and starting palliative chemotherapy in first line; Patients will be addressed only one time. After taking part in the study and sign the Consent and Informed, respond to three assessment tools (IQualiV - OG-21, EORTC QLQC30 and ESAS) through computer screens with touchscreen type and audio-visual resources (software). Expected results: It is expected that the use of assessment tools in health using computers with screens touchscreen type and audio-visual resources - is feasible in daily practice.
