Abstract

Nowadays, with all the ecological concerns, humankind needs to reevaluate how to work with nature and to help with this process, it has been created ways to control degrading or modifying activities of the environment, for example the Recuperation of Degraded Areas. To elaborate a project of recuperation of degraded areas involves a multidisciplinary study with different variables to describe the problem. Besides this complexity, the variety of standards and the absence of a systematic guidance to the decisions involved can compromise the effectiveness of the proposals. Systems to support decision-making are a relevant tool for managers. However, to develop this system, it is needed to consider variables of different natures, knowledge of many experts and subjectivities and uncertainties associated to the variables that describe the study. Thus, this project aims the study and improvement of a fuzzy system to support the recovery of areas for environmental conservation, developed by Bressane et al. (2014). This system is designed from the Fuzzy Set Theory, which allows to model a problem taking in consideration qualitative information in a strict way.
