Abstract

Considering the demands for veterinarians engaged in public health and in the concept of "One World, One Health", in which multidisciplinary teams are needed, concern about academic training in this area arises. Thus, the aim of this research is to conduct a analysis of the situation of Veterinary Public Health education in public institutions in the southeastern of Brazil. The curricula analysis will be made by a documentary research, taking into account the curriculum matrices used in courses comparing them with the international organizations recommendations, and to identify the students knowledge, two types of individual questionnaires for students will be developed and applied. The expectation is to find out if public institutions in the southeast region of the country can actually be used as example for private and if the graduates have the full knowledge of professional performance and ability to serving the Veterinary Public Health.
