Abstract

The application of self-compacting concrete (SCC) is improving. However, is a technology poorly used and exploited, though its advantages are relevant when compared to the application of common concrete. Many researches have been conducted to determine dosing methods for self-compacting concrete. This research proposes the study of metakaolin in fine material form for the production of SCC with materials available in the region. The test technique used is the one proposed by Tutikian (2004), this, in turn, based on IPT / EPUSP method for conventional concretes. Will be experimentally determined the mortar content, the water/cement (w/c) factor, the aggregate ratio (m) and the consumption of cement per cubic meter of concrete. Four SCC's traces will be produced: 1:3, considered rich in cement; 1:4.5 and 1:6 considered intermediate and; 1:7.5, considered poor in cement. In each trace, there will be cement replacement by metakaolin in different proportions, this being determined experimentally. There will be, for each trace of SCC, a reference trace, whose dosage has no components inherent in the self-compacting concrete production (metakaolin addition and superplasticizer). In fresh state, will be realized slump test in reference concretes and, in self-compacting concrete will be realized slump flow test and L-Box test. In all traces, will be performed test for incorporated air content determination and density determination. Will be realized water absorption test in immersion and axial compression test in 7, 28 and 56 days-old. The tests will be performed in accordance with current standards, following ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards). Based in results, will be produced the dosage diagram for self-compacting concretes manufactured with the same regional materials.
