Abstract

The central objective of this research project is to analyze the general characteristics and specific symbologies of three different models of collective identities present in the interior of the Hispanic Monarchy, namely: the aragonese, the castilian and the spanish one. Examine these three identity models together reveals excellent analytical alternatives, recovering the inherent complexity to a past that allowed the existence of a plurality of identities, composing a complex belonging, necessarily multiple, specific of Europe in modern times. The research is structured on the examination of connections and exchanges that can occur between the development of political cultures, the making of historical writings and the construction of collective identities.
