Abstract

The development of a microelectrode sensor for oxygen monitoring is proposed. The fabricated device will be used as a tip in scanning electrochemical microscopy coupled to a shear force module to oxygen monitoring in vicinity of cellular membrane to investigate the role of mitochondria on the respiration process. Inhibitor species will be used for regulating the function of mitochondrial complexes, enabling the comprehension of the mitochondrial respiration contribution on the consumption of local oxygen.
