Abstract

The aim of this project is to develop a mathematical and computational framework to integrate newer methods coming from nonlinear time series analysis. We will apply this framework in the study of nonlinear dynamical systems spatially distributed and that can present chaotic dynamics. The main objective is to develop a new paradigm that is based on the use of complex networks approach to quantify new aspects of statistical time series from measurement points obtained over a spatially distributed system. From this approach, we intend to characterize the multiscale aspects displayed by the dynamics present in climate systems. As an application, this new paradigm will be used to improve the understanding of the evolution dynamics of the Amazon region's climate over last years.
