Abstract

The project About games and not-games: a study on digital games and exhibition environments aims to discuss the issue regarding digital games in spaces destined for displaying art works through a survey on curatorial proposals for national and international exhibitions. Based on experience in curatorship, interviews with professionals and specific bibliography about game history, aesthetics and criticism, the research proposes a critical analysis about the growing presence of digital games on artistic and cultural environments, their belonging to these spaces and their influence on contemporary art as objects capable of promoting aesthetic experience.
