Abstract

In an Experimental Biochemistry class the knowledge of theoretical basis and the experimental techniques used in laboratory sessions are essential for the planning, performance and results interpretation of an experiment. The previous contact with the class content also may increase the students engagement both in the lectures and laboratory sessions. This work aims to use pre-class tests in a gamified environment as preparatory activities for the experiments and lectures. The goal of these tests is increase the students engagement in the preparatory activities. This point, this works aims to analyze the students profile, their behavior and learning using these preparatory activities, approach called flipped classroom. This work will therefore analyze the implications of the flipped classroom in the students engagement and Biochemistry learning. (AU)
