Abstract

We are witnessing a historical moment where immaterial cultural demonstrations (knowledge, ways of expression, celebrations and places) are being ever more valuable, in its social and cultural importance but also economical, being the National State of fundamental importance in this process. This research aims to comprehend the political and social-territory implications resulting from the recognition of the Fandango Caicara as a brazilian immaterial inheritance .Despite the recognition of the Fandango Caicara as a cultural immaterial good, the process of expelling the communities which are the bearers of this knowledge, continues to happen intensely. We start from the hypothesis that, without the symbolic places of fundamental reference for the social reproductions of the caicara's groups, the effective continuity of their cultural manifestations will be seriously compromised.
