Abstract

This project comprehends a collaborative proposal with the research team of Prof. Dr. Emilios Cambouropoulos from the Aristotle University ofThessaloniki in the field of automatic music harmonization using sound processing techniques, as well as with Prof. Dr. Anastasia Georgaki from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the field of sound processing and synthesis models for soundscapes. Its general goals are to advance the state of the art with respect to the automatic harmonization problem, bringing together methods of sound processing and optimization the the most recent techniques available, to develop representation and sound manipulation techniques for a digital database associated to a specific soundscape, the Academy of Plato in Athens, and to consolidate international cooperation partnerships with the foreign institutions involved. The proposals here presented have been discussed and refined in collaboration with these groups, and the period from march through july 2015 aims at the elaboration and refinement of models, and the conducting of experiments and analyses leading to the production of publications resulting from these collaborations.
