Abstract

Sleep disorders are common throughout the world and have profound effects in modern industrialized societies. As consequences of these disorders we highlight the commitment of social and recreational activities, an increase in the commission of human errors, decreased productivity and increased risk of accidents. Among the sleep disorders highlight sleep apnea arriving to commit a significant portion of the world population. The objective of this study is to assess the effect of negative expiratory pressure method as the screening to obstructive sleep apnea. The study is characterized as observational cross sectional be conducted in a population of patients with obstructive sleep apnea to be performed Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - Istituto di molecolare Biomedicine and Immunology "Alberto Monroy" (Palermo - Italy), with the purpose of propose a preventive intervention strategy that seeks a reduction of the impact of this disease on quality of life and minimize the development of cardiovascular consequences.
