Abstract

We will obtain material related to an experience that addresses the topic of relative speed to be included in the research project 2014 / 08206-0 - The Virtual Laboratory: Complementary didactical material to basic courses in Mechanics. In http://www.fep.if.usp.br/~fisfoto/ page several experiments have been included with topics related to translation of objects with and without friction, the analysis of static and dynamic frictional force, elastic and inelastic one-dimensional collisions, etc. Here we intend to study relative speeds, including trajectories, launch angle and velocity components of an object when observed from different reference systems. Relative speed study is a topic addressed by teachers of basic physics, both in high school and in undergraduate courses. Although the resolution of problems, the students frequently have difficulties to understand the topic. The obtained material, that include a snipped of the recorded experience, frames with a time code that allow measuring positions of the object from different referential systems and an experience laboratory guide will be added to the virtual experiments page.
