Abstract

Infrarenal cross clamping during aortic surgery induces production of reactive oxygen species and complex hemodynamic disturbances that may impair renal function postoperatively. Minimally invasive methods could course with lower morbidity and mortality in surgeries involving aortic flow interruption. The aim of this study is evaluate the structural changes of the aortic wall caused by aortic clamping depending on the surgical approach used for exposure and disruption of aortic flow: median laparotomy, endovascular procedure or laparoscopic surgery.
