Abstract

The impacts of the so-called food-feed-fuel competition for grains on the nutritional situation has been a major concern in many parts of the world. In Brazil, a few studies have dealt with some specific parts of that issue. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the nutritional situation in Brazil, between 1995 and 2014, and to measure the effects of allocating a large share of Brazilian grain harvest to the production of animal food and biofuels.
