Abstract

This is on the assumption that the Information Science and its interdisciplinary feature contribute to the information culture studies. From this perspective, it is necessary to deepen the studies that have been carried out within that framework, in order to discuss and reflect on the theoretical and methodological insights built over the existence of this scientific field. However, it is clear that there is a certain grace about the studies directly focused on interdisciplinary of Information Science, specifically in relation to its subsidies for studies on the information culture. In this way, we seek to analyze the theoretical construction in the field of Information Science, with respect to its interdisciplinary, aiming to highlight their contribution to the study of information culture. The study presents an exploratory study of qualitative and quantitative, whose focus is to explore and rescue disseminated theoretical knowledge on the subject on the area of Information Science. It is believed that research tends to provide the Information Science certain critical consciousness about their interdisciplinary exercise in respect of the concept of information culture, by contrast, clarity on how this scientific enterprise also contributes to the so-called information society or knowledge society.
