Abstract

This project aims to study the interpretation of the uses in the works of two theatrical genres from the Parisian fairs, the vaudeville and the opera-comique, in the period from 1714, when Catherine Baron and Gauthier de Saint-Edme was authorized to open their spectacle with the name of Opéra-Comique, until 1848, the year that the Compagnie Française Lyrique has stopped performing in theaters of Rio de Janeiro. The goal of this project is to understand the moral regulation mechanisms that the State makes use through institutionalized censorship, and how the poetic of these works reconstruct the representation of the everyday life in the duress censorship situation. Likewise, this project seeks to understand the singular moral conceptions between France and Brazil, in the authorization process or not of the presentation of the same works. What could be presented to the public, in both countries, and the awareness transformation processes, what should be prohibited in the works are fundamental interest points in this project, as well as the reverse process brought by the veto, the creation of a model, of the accurate perception of propriety by those companies.
