Abstract

This project aims to investigate the educational concepts developed by John Dewey and Jean -Jacques Rousseau through the rhetorical analysis, theoretical and methodological approach adopted by Rhetoric and Argumentation Research Group on Education (USP / CNPq). For this, works will be examined from both philosophers, in order to identify the argumentative strategies contained in their respective speeches, considering to identify possible convergences, without neglecting any differences between them. The line of work that integrates this research proposal aims to situate the educational formulations of John Dewey, and other thinkers related to it, under the "rhetorical universe" concept come from Nathan Crick relating to one of trends in contemporary philosophy.
