Abstract

This research project aims to study analytically and quantitatively the effects on economic growth in Brazil of trade liberalization and the creation of Mercosur in the 90´s. The quantitative analysis will rely on finely desegregated trade data using the most recent developments in the gravity literature. For institutional analysis, the objective is to look at the efficacy and efficiency of Mercosur's regional political and economic institutions. (AU)
