Abstract

This project is part of a PhD research work entitled "Fascination and Uneasiness: Hannah Arendt and the examination of the mind for a new political philosophy". The study of documents within the Hannah Arendt Papers, a digital archive, will facilitate the identification of Arendt's concern for activities of the mind -- thought, will and judgment -- and the interpretation of ways to formulate the definitions of these activities over the years, especially in her notes for classes, lectures and other unpublished materials. Drawing from traditional references, especially Socrates and Kant, elements of her reflections on these activities would contribute to the principles and criteria for the necessary development of both a new moral and political philosophy.
