Abstract

This document describes the research plan to be conducted during the post-doctoral internship at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. The research topic, inserted in the areas of Computer Vision, Image Processing and Machine Learning, focuses primarily on research and the improvement of techniques for the recognition of complex events in videos such as actions, activities, anomalous behavior and re-identification of people. There are several challenges related to the problem, such as the context in which occurs the scene and the vast amount of data collected. This research proposal includes the description of the problem to be investigated, some relevant concepts and works related to the research topic, its main objectives and expected contributions, the proposed methodology, the work plan, the implementation schedule, an analysis of risks and difficulties, as well as the result evaluation form.
