Abstract

The proposed research seeks to understand the main determinants of the current stage of BIM platform (Building Information Modeling) implementation in Brazil, mainly in the state of São Paulo, regarding architectural firms, productive sector and Architecture and Urbanism undergraduate courses with national public policies as a background to this implementation. Real examples of each sector will be studied, with questionnaires and interviews to professionals in each of those areas, mostly in the state of São Paulo, as well as interviews with researchers in the area. The research will rely on results of research’s that were already conducted within Nomads.USP - Núcleo de Estudos de Habitares Interativos - Instituto de Arquitetura e Urbanismo from The University of São Paulo (IAUUSP), in which it will be developed, and it will contribute directly to the project CNPq "project processes as complex systems: conversation, organization and digital media" (ongoing at Nomads). Moreover, this Research uses the experiments conducted by the discipline of Design Studio IIIB at IAUUSP that has been using Revit as a collaborative platform for four years.
