Abstract

This research aims to develop the survey of land use and land cover in the Pontal do Paranapanema region, encompassing the municipalities of Rosana, Euclides da Cunha Paulista, Teodoro Sampaio and President Epitácio. The region faces conflict between settlers and industries for the production of products derived from sugar cane, the main problems stem from the expansion of sugarcane areas within the limits of lots of settlements, which causes the degradation of pastures, damage crops, extermination of bees and even well water pollution in lots of the settlers, for the application of pesticides in the cultivation of sugar cane is made by aircraft. For this survey will be used orthophotos and pictures RapidEye, which will be interpreted visually with the aid of routines implemented in geographic information systems.
