Abstract

The number of elderly is increasing due to increased longevity and birth rates fall. The lowest birth rate stems from significant changes in family structure, causing changes in the program of housing, especially those offered by the government for the elderly with little or no social support. From this context, there is the need to maintain the familiarity of the place with qualified spaces that provide balance and security, from the harmonization of the various components that enable its use and produce a positive ambience. Through this principle, interviews with older people allow their participation, making these individuals analyze and express your situation to the development of public policies aimed at an accessible and inclusive urban, active aging promoter. A study on the environmental characteristics in collective housing for the elderly, from the conditions in existing hospitality houses in São Paulo, may result in useful information about good practice in initiatives in housing solutions of municipal governments, able to draw representative scenarios. In summary, the research intends to seek the perceptions of elderly patients using the resulting services of these initiatives in the city, from interviews and observation of routines.
