Abstract

Understand how to give the relations of colonial rule established between the Portuguese and Sobas in Mbaka region is the central objective of this work. Research will as empirical material to be analyzed colonial traveler texts and staff who circulated through the interior of Angola during the nineteenth century, more specifically the central barracks (c.1825-c.1875) - a period marked by strong speeches of political changes and Portuguese economic activity in Angola, inserted into a broader discussion about the possibilities of effective occupation of the territory of Angola.
