Abstract

With the purpose of exploring the oral texts properties involved in political discourses' impoliteness, their disclosure on the participants' image construction and deconstruction, and the relationship between the involvement of the participants and their social status, five Brazilian Senators' recorded speeches will be analyzed. The video recordings were found on many Youtube channels and they are available for research. The project will be developed based on conversation analysis and politeness verbal studies found, particularly, in Preti (1993, 2008 and 2013), Goffman (1967[1970]), Blas Arroyo (2001), among others selected in the course of the work.
