Abstract

Never before the environment and sustainability have been discussed so much as nowadays. Currently, researchers have been studying new practices to reduce the generation of toxic wastes in commercial and industrial scale in order to protect the environment. Related to advancement of techniques of environmental preservation, the production of phytotherapies have been gaining space and trust of the world's population in the treatment and cure of diseases. it's possible to observe in the literature that several studies have reported several pharmacological activities of the extract from medicinal plants. However, most of these phytochemical investigations uses toxic reagents/solvents that generate wastes that need expensive treatment, besides provides analyst's health hazards. The High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), one of the most used techniques in phytochemical analysis, uses toxic solvents such as acetonitrile and methanol. In this context, the aim of this work is to develop a new methodology of analysis by HPLC using concepts of green chemistry to getting cromatographic profile of the aerial parts of Phyllanthus niruri that is present in the Relação Nacional de Plantas Medicinais de Interesse do SUS (Renisus).
