Abstract

The intensification of extremes phenomena due to the climate changes can be observed in the Brazil's southeast region, for example the extended period of no rain that reached the Piracicaba region in 2014. This reality witnessed amplifies the necessity of actions that aim to improve the resilience facing these impacts. The sugar-cane culture has great economic importance at this region, but runs to have its production influenced by the extremes phenomena, and it also can be reflected on its productivity. Facing this problem, tools that facilitate the sugar-cane monitoring, obtaining a losses estimative, would be ways to give support to this culture. This work has the proposal to analyze the geotechnologies in the sugar-cane spectrum-temporal and thermal behaviors in the region of Piracicaba-SP compared to precipitation, for the estimation of periods of no rain influence at the culture's vigor. The orbit images, which will be processed using GIS software, will make possible the extraction of the spectrum-temporal information through Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and thermal data from the culture's plots. The period of no rain will be characterized by using data from the monthly precipitation of historic series that were recorded during 1982 to 2015 by ESALQ-USP meteorological station, and also using the calculation of Rainfall Anomaly Index (RAI) from the time covered by this work. By the creation of graphics with the information obtained about precipitation, NDVI and thermal, will be analyzed the correlation between the existing data.
