Abstract Children and adolescents are the main victims of violence. The scientific literature shows that violence can be prevented, and its impact reduced through the efforts of various sectors; factors contributing to violent responses - related to attitudes and behaviors, or social, economic, political and cultural conditions - can be changed. In this way, the aim of this study is to contribute to improve the comprehension on the violence prevention against children and adolescents, with the families and communities. To approach the study object, we are interested in performing a Post-Doctoral Stage in Nursing School of Coimbra, Portugal, with the supervision of PhD Maria da Cruz Neto Leitão, reference in the study of active methods and violence prevention. The theoretical and methodological framework will be the complexity paradigm. Data collection in this study with a qualitative approach and research-action method, will be performed by contextualization maps and focus groups with families of children and adolescents. The collected data will be guided by the comprehension and contextualization of the data, according to the following steps: classification and organization of the collected data; organization of referential frames; and establishment of relationships among the data. It is intended to advance knowledge related to violence primary prevention, still latent in the scientific literature, and to sensitize individual and community empowerment as essential for dealing with violent situations with efficiency. These expected results corroborate at the post-doctoral project developed in Brazil, process 2014 / 23620-7, not only deepening the thematic discussion, but they will light in new methodologies and interventions to violence against children and adolescents . | |
