Abstract

Due of his premature death, Albert Camus was not able to accomplish the project of texts that would compose his third circle of works around the theme of love. Among them, the project of this research give focus on the essay titled The myth of Nemesis. For that, it is proposed an analysis of the author unpublished manuscripts organized in the dossier "Némésis. Notes. Éléments", present at the Fonds Albert Camus. With the analysis of those documents, we attempt to present a horizon of expectation to the essay through four axes: a thematic analysis of the relationship between love and measure in the author's published works; an opposition between the image of the committed revolutionary and the moralist intellectual present at the essay fragments; the approach made by Camus between Christianity and Marxism through a return to his youth text Christian Metaphysics and Neo-Platonism; and, finally, a proposal of poetic writing of the writers maturity in part because of his friendship with the poet René Char. With this panorama, we attempt to investigate how The myth of Nemesis proposes a possible reconfiguration of the French-Algerian writer works. (AU)
