Abstract This work, eminently experimental, has as main objective to study some physical characteristics of composite gypsum produced by incorporating two different tire rubber particle sizes. Such performance characteristics will be studied: setting time, consistency (mini-slump), scanning electron microscopy and compressive strength. The two different rubber particle sizes are named: fine (# 0.075mm) and thick (# 1,19mm); wherein this rubber is from the tire retreading process. The experimental program initially provides for the implementation of consistency tests and setting time in gypsum composite fresh, later, with the gypsum composite in the hardened state, will run on test specimens the compressive strength tests and electron microscopy scan. After completion of the experimental program may be subject to the main influences of two different particle sizes of rubber tires produced the gypsum composites. Where the application of this rubber from the retreading products for the construction, requires the mitigation of the impact generated by waste tires, and provides a niche market involving concern for the environment, and here is consolidated with the transfer to the productive sector of the knowledge generated at the university. | |
