Abstract

This project aims the student's familiarization with the two-photon absorption polymerization microfabrication method. In this technique, femtosecond pulses induce polymerization of a given resin by the excitation of a photoinitiator via absorption of two photons. This technique has been used to manufacture various types of optical and photonics devices, as well as devices of biological interest. Depending on the application, it is necessary that the fabricated structures exhibit high spatial resolution, which can be obtained by optimizing the optical system, the appropriate choice of laser intensity and the composition and amount of resin and photoinitiator. In this project we will study the influence of the composition (resin concentration formulation and photoinitiator concentration) of an acrylic resin in the resolution of the process of two-photon photopolymerization.
