Abstract

Brazilian pig industry occupies an important position on the world stage, where Brazil is the fourth largest exporter and producer of pork. Production of pigs can be classified according to the degree of control of production in extensive and intensive. Along the growing Brazilian pig production, there is also concern about the sanity, which is a major cause of death of these animals. Among the diseases that affect pigs, toxoplasmosis and leptospirosis stand out as infectious diseases, bringing losses in pig farming and beyond that are zoonoses. This study aims to report the occurrence of toxoplasmosis and leptospirosis in pigs of different types of creation and to survey relevant information on the management of these animals.
